Hey, There!
I’m CC.

Thank you for stopping by!  If you’re searching for meaningful, inspirational and well-written content complete with a few laughs and a whole lot of heart, look no further!  Please check out the menu and feel free to look around!  Here at Get Lifted Girl, the goal is to encourage and uplift today’s woman in a society that feels as if it’s thrown us away.  With all of the discouraging happenings in our world, it’s becoming harder than ever to maintain good health, hope for the future, peace of mind, and a reasonable portion of sanity. Many of us are drained, over-stressed, and settling for less than our best because we’re just too tired to keep up the fight and push forward.  This was (and is) my personal struggle, so I decided to create this blog as therapy for myself and for any woman who has a sense that life is calling them higher.  Many of us desire to get to the next level and know that we have what it takes to succeed. Yet when life gets real, it’s often much easier to resign ourselves to the comfortable and familiar because we get tired of always looking for that doggone elevator!  I mean seriously, which way is up already, God?

Too often, we know that there is more for us than what we’ve allowed ourselves to imagine or accept.  Yet instead of looking to God and within for what will take us there, we use everything from food, drugs, alcohol, sex, butt implants and beyond to fill up our empty spaces and patch the holes instead of filling up on what can truly get us lifted.

My name is CC and I would like to share my thoughts with you. I hope to help you see life differently as I work to do the same. I believe in God.  I believe in myself.  I believe in the power of encouragement. I’m a Clinical Social Worker with 18 years experience working with women from all walks of life.  I’m also a wife and mother of three children which is its own kind of crazy.  I’ve done many things with my life including working in Hollywood for the television and film industries, teaching, singing, and I’ve even tried my hand at stand-up comedy. Who would’ve thought it would all lead to my very own free blog with minimal followers?  Lol

Listen, I don’t proclaim to know it all, but I have learned a little on my journey so far.  I plan to use my life and my work with other women as inspiration.  I also like to talk about current events that I believe can be teachable moments for us all. I believe that each day is a gift complete with countless lessons that God would have us to learn.  I may be a little slow at times, but I’d still like to learn as many lessons as He sends my way.  I’m no Oprah or Iyanla so I can’t fix your life, especially since I’m still working on my own. However, I am God’s child and that makes me enough.

I like to start each post with a thought and question for the day that I hope will make you think.  Hopefully, all of us can start to learn more from this life we were given and move from impossible to possible.  Let’s move away from temporary highs and move towards being lifted once and for all.  I would love your feedback and support.  I don’t know how long it will take before the vision I have for Get Lifted Girl comes to fruition, but it’s all good.  I just want to write, laugh and share the wisdom I do have with others and enjoy myself along the way.  I pray you will do the same.  May the Lord bless this endeavor and everyone reading.

By His Grace,

CC Jean

Who Am I?

I’m a forty-something wife and mother of three who spends my days working as a Clinical Social Worker. I believe in God. I believe in myself. I believe in the power of encouragement. I’ve done many things including writing, singing, teaching, stand up comedy, and working as a writers’ assistant in Hollywood prior to ending up exactly where God has me now. It’s been a long ride but ending up with my very own free blog with limited followers makes it all worth it! Lol:)
